Follow Up to Question About Posing 6 People at Once

I was asking about the 2nd picture of the family wearing black shirts in posing 6 people.
Specifically the boy on the far right, how would you get the boy into that position? seems like it is not a position he could stay in very long?
Thanks again!

Yes, but it was not an uncomfortable pose for him at his age. I just told him to lean in real close toward his family. That position puts him at a good height in comparison to the rest of his family and allows him to lean in to a nice close distance.

Organizing the Pose of The Family of Six People

"In posing 6 people. The second picture you have the boy, on far right, in an uncomfortable position, looks like to me. How do you explain the positions such as this one that you would like them to get into?
Thanks!"

Thanks for your question to photography frustration.

Did you mean the family portrait of the family of six, dressed in black turtlenecks and blue jeans in front of the black background on this page:

Photography Poses for 6 People ?

Posing family portraits is definitely an art and not a science and subject to different opinions. In this case the boy on the right didn't "feel" awkward and looked like he was quite happy to be there.

I had him lean in to make the family photo more intimate and close. The client was very happy with the pose and invested in several prints from the family session.

The family pose directly below them is a very similar situation with the two sisters and their kids.

Thanks,
